Nice Ranger. . .

A couple of us here have one as well. It is a 2006 FX4 with some pretty major mods. You should check it out some time.

Welcome.

You live right down the street from me. If you promise to put a muffler on your little danger ranger there, I'll invite you to follow me anytime you see my rig loaded up on the trailer...

@toby hahah yea its a little loud. Its just straight cataylic converters. its started with a flowmaster but it made it sound very winey. But yea i alwyas see you working in your sweet shop on your jeeps. it would be fun to follow you sometime.

Seriously! Fix that exhaust or you're gonnaa get nailed. Converters are nor spark arrestors, and that's required in the woods. Glasspacks aren't legal, either. Other'n that, nice rig aand welcome!

Don't put on a Flowie 40... BTDT on a 4.0 Ranger. They actually like just a tad of backpressure to keep the torque curve low and usable. Your best bet for exhaust is to keep a stock style muffler but upgrade to slightly larger diameter tube that is actually bent and not kinked. Hunt for a factory muffler from a V8 truck. Here is the '99 Ranger I used to kick around in (and the basis for my advise, especially notable when towing):

Stop by anytime you see me out in the shop. Just don't sneak up on me when I'm under the welding hood. Bad things happen when I get spooked

Toby, you have no idea!!! El Chivo is stronger and faster after ditching the headers and installing STOCK MANIFOLDS WITH CATS AND Y PIPE!!!

Just don't tell Tim... He still thinks I'm stupid for only runnig 2" pipes on the EB    Silly farmers...

The stock manifolds and converters were my idea. I just like to be able to let a v8 breath 8)

And for the record I've never even heard your bronco run. I just like the should of a 5.0 through 2.5" flowmasters. Although my pipes are pretty flattened and kinked a couple places so I'm not sure it qualifies as 2.5" exhaust anymore.

My ford ranger 3.0l v6 has 2.5 in pipes right now with cats on and stock manifold but need to find what muffler will sound and be the best for it. right now my exhaust pops right out the side of the passenger door side :glare:

It's a V6... Only a stock muffler makes it sound good.

I generally like the stock exhaust on most rigs. In fact, I wouldn't mind at all if my vehicles were perfectly silent. It's more fun to roll down your windows and make the vroom vroom noises manually anyway.
