Hello, Just need to introduce my self to you all. Way back in the 70's My mom and dad were members of the Peak Putters. My name is Shari Hallworth (Atwood). My mom and Dad are Jim and Mary Jane Atwood. We were members when we lived in the Tri-Cities. My dad had an 74 CJ5 Kinda orangeish Red color. He ended up rolling it and re-did the whole jeep from the frame up and then it was a candy apple red. We ended up selling the jeep when we moved to the other side of the mountain.
I can throw some names out that I can remember, Not sure of some of the last names, I was only 6 or 7 at the time when we were members. I can remember some of the kids, Tommy, Brett, WJ. Dont really remember some of the girls. I can remember the Moss's kinda, The Isleys kinda, and The Holmes. I am hopping you all can remember with me and say Hi. I ended up marring a wonderful man Scot and we now live in Easton, Washington. We use to have a 74 CJ5 Yellow. It was our pride'n joy. Just sold it about 3 years ago, But still have quit a few friend that still jeep. My father-in-law Had a land crusier(Shushi) was her name. You might have seen it on the trail at shoe string. He now has a yota. and his brother had a willys Purple. He now has a yota too.

Hello! Good to hear from an old member who knows about the club... I don't recall your name, but the 70's was before my time! I'm sure some of the others on here will remember you.

Welcome to the site!

Hi Shari. . .Jim Moss here. I remember your family. I was pretty young so it is a little hazy, but my mom and dad talk about your folks once in a while.

The maroon Jeepster belongs to Roy Kauer and, yes, I'm sure your folks would remember him. His son Dave is Commando14 here on the board and they are both still very active in the club.

If you guys get back over this way, we'd be honored to have you as guests at a run or a meeting.

Howdy Jim. Thanks so much. I am glad someone remembers me and my family . Mom and Dad are doing great. They now got into Harleys. Dad still works for PUD. He will retire from there in a few years. Mom is doing great too. They live over here in Stanwood. The other side of the mountain.
Well it was great to hear from someone that knew us. I can remember the x-mas tree runs to camp Wooten and some of the jeep ralleys too. What fun we had back then.

Yes ma'am.. .back in the day.

You'll be happy to know that a few of us are getting back into racing after a LONG absence. Also, the Christmas Tree Run is still in full effect. If your family doesn't mind a Charlie Brown tree from the Blue Mountains, you should gather up the folks and head over for the run in December. We don't stay overnight anymore because of some changes at Wooten, but we still go to the same area as when we were kids. . .but now, with OUR kids.

God I can remember the cabins at Wooten when I was a kid and the Parents making asses of themselves. My mom and dad still talk to Keith and Shirley Marsh when they get back to the Tri-cities for reunions for school. Wow. It is kinda crazy that we now take our kids out jeepin. Glad to see it stays in the family. The guy I married Had our jeep when I met him. OMG it felt so good to get back into the seat of a jeep. My dad made the comment to me once that I finally got to drive a real jeep after 25years. I just laughed. See, they sold there jeep before I could drive. Well I got to drive it but just on dad's lap. That kinda counts right

Hey OldGreen, I was also talking to my mom, she said that one of your sisters might have bought a CJ7 from my mom and dad. Do you remember a Colbolt blue with white hard top jeep in you family? Just wondering

Ah yes, the Blue Jay. . .My sister Kathy and Brother-in-Law David bought that Jeep from your folks back in the day. V8, Auto, CJ7. My Dad and David were in that Jeep on May 18, 1980. . .in the Cascades. . .when Mt. St. Helens blew.

I'm not sure where it is now, they got out of 4wheelin' due to some health issues and sold it in the mid-80s.

Here's a picture of it behind our old CJ5. That's me in the driver's seat:

That is so cool . I haven't seen that jeep since I was about 5yrs old. I had almost forgoten about it until my mom had told me the other day about it. We didn't have it that long. I am gonna see my parents this weekend. I will see if mom and dad have any old photos of the jeep club and its members from the day. I know she dose. She is a picture taken fool back then. If I can get them, I will scan them on here for everyone to see.
