New(ish) Guy
Hi!
My name is Matt Rasmussen. I've met a few of you when I came to a meeting a few months back to talk about Juniper Dunes (I am the County Engineer for Franklin County).
Been in the Tri Cities now 7 years. I have a 1967 Scout that I've been working on for better than two years thats still in more pieces than not. Been keeping a build thread here: http://www.justih.org/Binder-Bench/show ... hp?t=16218
I also just bought a 1988 4runner, its ugly but it runs and I can go wheeling.
I still have a few things to do to the runner like add a CB and fix a thing or two but I am interested in getting out there.

To be fair the cornbinder is that in body only. The axels are from a 3/4ton Jeep J Truck, the transmission is from GM, the T case is an NP241 (Chevy version) and the engine is a 4cy isuzu diesel. I love the look of the old scouts but I am not a diehard binder guy by any means.
The 4runner is a 1988 with a 3.slow engine and auto tranny. Its mostly stock except the 10" wide wheels (which have 10.5" tires so I need wider tires or narrower wheels) and some shackels in the rear that look longer than stock and appear to be adjustable? It has a tube bumper on the front if you want to call it that. I don't think the 1" tube will hold up to much so it'll get replaced shortly.
It also had a bench seat from a pickup when I go it but I've repalced that with some stock buckets from a wrecking yard. I added a HL jack mount that doubles as the upper harness mount for the 3 points I put in the back seat. I am working on cleaning it up some so I decided to replace all the junk interior panels with some 20ga sheet metal. Got the passenger door done today.
Not really by the autoplex. I am down by Rd 100.

I did make the door panel. Its 20ga sheet metal using the formed peice from the stock panel on top. Plan on doing all the interior panels this way. Should clean the truck up nice and they'll take alot more abuse then the paper board stuff it came with.
The 3.slow is what it is. I am going back and forth on swapping it out or not. If I did I think I'd go for the 3.4L swap. I plan to add dual T cases to it so then I may not care as much about the lack of power. I'll probably try to goose as much as I can out of it with headers and some ignition upgrades and then run it till it pukes and decide then.
