Hello to all of you.

Hello Everyone,
While it appears most of you guys are jeep guys I am running a 72 Bronco that I've been working on for the last year. Just looking to make friends, talk shop etc.
I took on this bronco as a new hobby which has been rewarding, challenging and expensive as I had no prior experience restoring a vehicle and I make do with whatever tools I can get a hold of.
I've only taken it on a light trail once and want to do more but not without back up....I know I'll get it stuck at some point haha. She's not a rock crawler or anything extreme, just for a bit of fun, camping and fishing.
Anyhow, I'd be interested in meeting some of you. I pretty much have every weekend free depending on my boys from thursday to sunday. I work 3 12's so it leaves a lot of time to goof off.
My Bronco is far from finished but other than getting new tires on it, I am thinking it is ready to take out for some fun.
Going to go out to Juniper this weekend and check it out as I've never been there.
Hope to meet all of you at some point or another!
Brian

So Tim, why don't you post up some pics of your forever work in progress. And oh ya, welcome. It's great to have another EB in the group.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Yes, Wednesday I finally cleared up some steering issues so I've been runnin her around more. Taking it to juniper tomorrow will be my first test run with it off pavement. Just hoping for a light workout there for fun till I can get a decent set of tires.

Many have accused me of being a Jeep guy, but the truth is I'm an early Bronco buff to the bitter end... It will be great to see another one on the trails!

Lol I love Eb's and it may be sacrilege to say to some people but I've always liked Jeeps as well. I nearly got myself a 76 with a 390, blue and finished right before I found this. I had been looking for a year by that time for a mostly rust free Bronco that matched my price range. Almost gave up but that jeep was just a touch out of range and I wanted something that wasn't done. Then I found this. The Jeep would have been cheaper over the last year haha.

That's why you build a Scout.. same look, half the price. Problem is actually finishing one...

I was thinking about heading out to Juniper tomorrow (sunday) too with my son, maybe I'll see you out there. I drive a red 1st generation 4runner (since my Scout still rolls on car dolly's :( ).
Or shoot me a PM and I can give you my contact info and we can meet up.

Worked great. Quite a project you undertook there. My son has a 72 that he did a body off redo of when he was in high school. Turned out pretty nice so know what you've gone through on this one. Can't wait to see it. Will pass this link on to my son so he can reminisce some.

This is why you don't put Scout parts back into them :P

Just saw your bronco. It was right by my parents house. Looks pretty sweet. You are pretty close to hover for quick wheeling trips.

Thanks guys. Still have a lot of work left :-)
Went out to Juniper with Matt, had a great time. I need better tires and thinking I need to go efi. Stalled out right at top of one dune, ended up having to go around
Yeah Squirrel, I don't know exactly where that is at but Matt mentioned it too.
I live out that way for the time being ...well finley way at least.

Yep was fun. We'll have to hit Hover one day soon.

Lotta work you put into your rig already, really a good looking truck. Can see what you ment about the seats it came with being out of place, the low backs you got look alot better for that era truck.

I'm hearing that only in 4hi with load. Did not occure in 4hi with all the tires off the ground. Not hearing it in 4 low. But it's worse the faster she goes, really noticeable at 10mph+.
I opened up the Dana 20 and the teeth all looked good on the gears. No metal bits and fluid wasn't shiny. U joints are all good.

Ideas guys?

Sounds like a front drive shaft problem.

Drive shaft itself or the front drive shaft bearings in the d20. ?
