All Wheelers Off Road Club & Backroad Drivers Northwest
Christmas Tree Run

December 6th, 2008

On Saturday December 6th, 2008 the All Wheelers Off Road Club teamed up with Backroad Drivers Northwest for a Christmas Tree Run. We met up in Naches at Ace Hardware around 10 AM to get Christmas Tree cutting permits. As soon as everyone was ready, we headed west on Hi-way 12 toward Rimrock with twelve rigs. Demontang was the Trail Boss and I (Ceg) was the Tail Gunner. At Rimrock Retreat two more Backroad Drivers rigs join our group.

We Turned off on Tieton road and then turned up FS1201.

The first stop was close to where the FS1201 pavement ended.

Colemancooler found a tree to take home. The rest of us wanted to look on down the road.

We headed on up FS1201.

We stopped at the end of FS1201 at the 4W608 trail head.

The kids had fun playing on the ice.

Roll Over and his friend came with us.

We walk for a long ways before we saw any tree close to what we wanted.
We finally saw a nice little tree that need to come for a Jeep ride.
Roll Over cut it down and we head back to the rigs.

As we walked out of the woods we found Santa was in our group.
We told the kids he was there to make sure that they were being good.

The people from Oregon in the Suburban also found a tree.

It was time to go look for more trees for the group.
We head back down FS1201 and parked near a clear cut.

Demontang proud he got those two big trees in the back of his Bronco.

Guess who locked the Bronco doors with the keys inside? LOL
Image
All the talking in the world and he would not unlock the doors.
He just laughed at us on the outside.

The only option was to pull a tree back out.
Image

Now Demontang has the keys, it is time to fight getting the tree back in.
Image

Wow. Both trees are in farther than before.

Here we are heading down FS1201.

Kloochman Rock, the home of the Grinch.

Whoville must be on Lower 4W608.

We stopped in Rimrock Retreat so Demontang could retie the tree on his wife's rig.

? Are these Two Hundred dollar Hot Dogs to feed the flies?

Here are the kids working on the club tree in the shop. Sorry for the bad picture.

The little tree decked out.

We were hoping this was going to be a snow run, but all we had was sunshine. It was a very nice day to be up in the mountains. I would take a day like that over any bad weather. This was a fun run thanks to all that came.
