All Seasons Mud Fest 09

Postby commando14 » Sun Nov 08, 2009 11:21 am

It was great entertainment, there was a lot more rigs out there than I imagined and a big crowd watching. Did anyone stay late enought to watch the tuff truck course and tug o war?

Tim ran the rock crawl and made it half way through the course which was pretty good considering a lot of rigs didn't make it that far and he probably had the smallest tires of the bunch. I got some video on my cell phone, haven't got it on the computer yet. I think next year I might have to bring the Comanche

Here's some videos that someone else posted on youtube:

And here's Punisher and Phantom on the rock crawl, he was making good time had it won easily but the battery box failed near the finish. Video linked from their Insanityfab site: http://insanityfab.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1316

I stayed late. The cops showing up just before the Tough Truck event did alot of damage to the fun. That and the lack of organization made the Tough Truck and Tug of War events really poor.

There was a little buggy there with a GSXR750 engine that threw some good roost and ripped around awful fast.

The Tug of War broke several vehicles. In fact, the only one that didn't have carnage was the tug between the military half-track and the Ford pickup with 60-some inch tires. THAT was just cool.

I just hope the idiots starting fights and getting the cops called didn't ruin the fun for good. I hear they want to do this again in March.

I still apreciate the help, had a blast and was pretty happy with how I finished. Guess I surpised alot of people being the smallest tired and lowest rig in the group.

Carnage:
1 exhaust hanger

1 steel braided brake line (result of the exhaust falling on it after the hanger broke)

2 driveshaft slip yoke boots

Could have been alot worse.

The kid with the 53's went to school with me... he told me he wasn't going to tug the half-track... he knows the guy though, the guy in the track gave him the axles that are under that ford. Runs good for only a injected 5.0... But he does have two transfer cases and 6.77(?) gears...
wow...

Oh c'mon you can't blame kevin, I mean really how can you expect a guy that hasn't wheeled in like 10 years to remember how to drive? :lip:

Well, Lurch, I told ya that I had some good pics and video of you that I'd post. That ain't gonna happen. I got my camera ripped off outta the rig that night so obviously all of the photos are gone. You gave it one helluva run though! Nice job.

Thanks for linking that vid of us. I'm glad somebody had it on video.

What time did the tug of war end up happening? We were entered in it, but it was getting late and we had to get back to Yakima.
