If while on your family Christmas tree run you decide to dramatically pose your Jeep on an incline (after removing your tree bearing trailer) to get a family Christmas picture…
…please remember to remove your stinger…
…otherwise you may be dragging cable 70 feet up the hill to winch to the nearest (straight ahead) tree to get your Heep off of the hitch.
No snow to speak of, but rock hard frozen ground was my undoing.

Okay, we're a little crazy to have a Duramax for a daily driver. But if we go off our meds, we might wind up in a Prius.

Lee, why didn't you jack it up a tad and take the stinger out? You do carry a jack, don't you?
Or, you could have put something behind the tire and backed up onto it thus releaving the pressure on the stinger enabling you to take it out.
Just a couple of thoughts.

It was more fun to winch it up the hill. Winched it up a foot or so, and pulled the stinger. It was a fun ride when the front suspension unloaded backing it off.
(Maybe you can't tell from the pic, but jacking it up would have been super scary. Oh, and 4 tires spinning, it was not backing up.)
