Memorial Day in the Nile 2010

Postby TJDave » Wed Jun 02, 2010 7:02 pm

Warning! Some idiot forgot their camera in the motorhome so I have campsite pics only. I will be replacing this warning with pictures as I receive them from my friends from work. Maybe Curtis can share the few pics he shot on the trail too.

My group at worked planned a wheeling weekend in the Nile Valley this year. We ended up in a nice clearing up Clover Springs Rd, just before the large valley that the horse campers fill up. A couple guys went up Thursday and claimed the spot. Barb and I did not arrive until Friday around 3pm due to a battery cable issue on the motorhome. The clearing was awesome with plenty of room, and we had it all to ourselves.
Then, we drank alot.
Saturday morning Curtis arrived with Jeep in tow, unloaded, and the group headed up FS1600. The group consisted of 3 CJ's, 1 CJ Scrambler, 1 YJ, 1 Willys Flatty, a Grand Cherokee, and 2 open diff TJ's. One of them had no lift and 33's....it did quite well.
I was suprised at the amount of designated, numbered Jeep trails that were up there, and that we only ran into one other group of rigs on a trail all weekend. I do not remember what the trail numbers we ran were, but I will find out, and edit this post when I get more pictures. I had to cut Sunday's run short and head for a stronger phone signal due to a family crisis in Spokane. :(
We found snow, not much mud, some steep hills, and lots of downed Tamarack for the campfire. Here's the only pics I have.....for now.

For what it is worth, I spent the weekend in Da'Nile. Despite my self, I don't like camping with six little kids in the rain.
I don't Text (at least not very well), I eat Blackberrys, and I only Twitter after sex...
