Virtue Flat 10-24-10

There are a couple of things that words simply cannot describe:

1.) My absolute disdane for mud
2.) Just how slick/snotty the mud was early in the day!!

We met up at the staging area of the Virtue Flat OHV Area at around 0930, and hit the trails. I've been to VF a few dozen times over the past 10 years or so, but I've never been there in the rain. Holy cow, what a game changer!! All of the dry, rocky washes were now slimy and gooey, and it didn't matter what tire you had, they immediatly became racing slicks!! Here are a few pics from the day:

The group at the staging area. My '77 EB, Ed's (erslll on the forum) well-built '73 CJ-5 on 40" LTB's, Kevin in his '09 JK Unlimited Rubicon on 35" KM2's, and Kory in his XJ on 33" TSL's.

About 300 yards into the trail, and you get the idea...

I was finally able to flex out the EB suspension a bit to eyeball my bumpstop needs.

And toward the end of the day, we let the Ed play around in the rocks a bit.

I'll add more pics (or links to more pics) when I get them from Ed, Kev, and Kory.
Yep, I've wheeled one of those, too...

It was a fun day. I agree though.....mud is not any fun. Nice change of pace for a day at VF but not something I need to do very often.
