Breather run, Clover Springs, June 15th

Postby Wrench » Sun Jun 16, 2013 4:25 pm

We met up at the small parking lot just past the turnoff for White Pass just after 9am. We proceeded to Clover Springs rd off of Nile Rd, found a good open area to unload, and got the rigs ready.

We had 4 rigs total in the group: Two Cherokees and two flatfenders.

The views were beautiful, we found a little snow to play in, and we had some interesting trial fixes to contend with.

One of the flatties lost a front brake slave cylinder, which we bypassed so he only had three brakes. A mile or two later, his right rear axle nut fell off, followed by the wheel/hub assembly. Luckily, we found nearly all the parts on the trail and reassembled.

Anyone here ever used water as a last resort instead of brake fluid? It works!
