Okay, the devil made me do it so here it is. It's been in the works for quite some time, like the past 2 years. First is was seeing my first Gecko Pearl Jeep and saying KOOL. Then it went to think we need one of those and from there it went to deciding on a sport and keeping the YJ. From there it went to getting rid of the YJ and, well....this!!

It will need a few things done to it, but then what Jeep doesn't. In the near future I'll be planning out just what I'll be doing to it. Probably nothing drastic since I believe on learning to wheel what you have with just a few mods....and it will work.

I'm currently in Denver and won't be around the TC for a meeting/meet and greet until probably the Sept meeting. But maybe, just maybe, you might see me on the trail between now and then.

I heard it was green, I did not know that it is GREEN.

You better never get stuck, you will suffer every Rubi-cant joke ever told. I will make sure of it.

Good looking Jeep. Is the 8274 going to find a home on the nose?
Okay, we're a little crazy to have a Duramax for a daily driver. But if we go off our meds, we might wind up in a Prius.

Yes Lee, I'm prepared to take some ribbing and jabbing. Looks like it goes not only with the Ribi but with the JK crowd as well. It may take some time but I will learn to wheel it as well as the YJ. But, the plan is to not get stuck; after all, it is a RUBI-CAN.

And Yes, the 8274 will find a home on the prow of Gecko.

Address for Logos???

It is going to sport Peak Putter logos isn't it? I will have it no other way.

And as far as the ribbing, 1st time you are stuck it will be merciless. I for one am looking forward to it.

Stuck is part of wheeling, sooooo, if you're not stuck you're not trying hard enough, or something like that, right?

That is accurate. Or close:

If you don't get stuck once in a while, you aren't trying hard enough.

If you don't fall once in a while, you aren't improving.

If you don't erupt in a ball of firey motlen metal once in a while, you are probably doing something right.

Thanks OG....It's how and when you get stuck....or don't, that counts Lee.

Well. . .all content is now uploaded and I am ready to storyboard. Sadly, I bought another Jeep in addition to the other Jeep that I just bought and the other one that I just sold. . .so. . .I'm preoccupied and need to take some time on the weekend to get the outline and storyboard done.

I'm actually going to use the run report as a timeline/template, cut in some music and narration along with both action footage and B-Roll. . .should be a hoot. I need a BoyScout to guide me though this process.

Back to the Hi-Jack...

Very NICE Danny, best part is another JK in the midst! Love that GREEN! Does the lil buggar talk funny too?

If you have Qs feel free to ask I'm certain I've broken or bent nearly all of mine... I can't wait to see your build/dream list...

And this is the reason why I am building my Jeep. Looks like an absolutely epic trip. Great pics, great OG narrative as usual, and now I can't wait until I get my chance at the Con. Thanks for sharing!

I finally had the time to pour through literally hours of raw footage from the trip last year and make an admittedly weak attempt to put together some interesting highlight videos. Aside from the boring monologue on the road trip video, there is no sound because I’m nowhere near cool enough to try and pick songs from my massive 7-song digital playlist (yes, my VCR does still flash 12:00 thank you very much), so you’ll have to make up your own sound track as you watch. At any rate, here is the video version of the story:

Day 1: Road Trip

http://youtu.be/kZDuku2xdZU

Day 2: Camp spot to staging area

http://youtu.be/UWVonmGwZjs

Day 2: Staging Area to first unnamed obstacle

Day 2: Second unnamed obstacle to Loon Lake

Day 2: Little Sluice

Day 2: Spider Lake to Rubicon Springs

Day 3: IN PROCESS
Yep, I've wheeled one of those, too...

You must think I have nothing better to do but sit here watching Rubicon videos. Well you proved that.

I lived it and it was great reliving it. I'm ready to do it again. Wish I could go. Too bad the only footage of Cadillac hill is me just about renaming the hill. Thanks Toby
