Senate Bill 5128 has been introoduced by Senators Jacobsen and Kline; read for the first time January 14th; and referred to Committee on Natural Resources, Ocean & Recreation.

(Summary)

The bill is addressing natural resource impacts from off-road vehicle use; takes steps to minimize further damage to public and private resource lands caused by unauthorized ORV use while also continuning to maximize outdoor recreation opportunities.

It also addresses operating off-road vehicle on or across a highway or nonhighway road without a vaild license - need to be eighteen years or older; addresses seizure and forfeiture of vehicle.

The 2009 Washington State Legislative session started this week and Senator Ken Jacobsen and Senator Adam Kline have introduced the first anti-offroad vehicle bill of the year.

SB5128 is similar to last year’s SB6301.

Along with a lot of other junk, this draconian piece of legislation would send you to jail if you “damage vegetationâ€
