(3) No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise emitted by the engine of such vehicle above that emitted by the muffler originally installed on the vehicle, and it shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle not equipped as required by this subsection, or which has been amplified as prohibited by this subsection. A court may dismiss an infraction notice for a violation of this subsection if there is reasonable grounds to believe that the vehicle was not operated in violation of this subsection.
This subsection (3) does not apply to vehicles twenty-five or more years old or to passenger vehicles being operated off the highways in an organized racing or competitive event conducted by a recognized sanctioning body.

No ticket. Just got curious after looking at the Traffic section in this morning's paper talking about noise laws. We're on the way to having sealed cars that you can't tinker with. M-B's already come w/o a dip stick

...Oh, and Kalifornia wants to put smog reg's on all cars now, including collector stuff

Just when I was pricing Flowmasters. Oh well, WTF, my tires stick out too far. They can give me a 2 for 1 ticket if they are really that bored and there are no more drunk drivers and thieves out there.

yeah, and I wanna win the lottery too.

Want in one hand, wish in the other, etc.
The fed is likely to re-do the smog stuff for all the states at the rate things are looking.

Well, according to today's paper, KPD will be out doing the nanny thing on this, along with stereo noise. I tend to agree with the stereo limit, to a point, but the exhaust limit I find annoying. Just seems they have better things to do.

I understand the stereo and exhaust to a point like at night. but during mid day i should be able to drive my DD down the road without a worry (305 stock manifolds into 2.5 inch duals with flowmaster) I was worried everytime i went to kenniwick when i had my stereo in my truck but anywhere else it was ok... i didnt turn it up untill i couldnt hear but it had the ability to if i wanted
