Fish & Wildlife Proposed Rule Changes

For those of you who also take side adventures with your 4x4 and use it to pursue other forms of outdoor recreation - the Departemnt of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) have announced public meetings scheduled around the state to discuss more than 100 new sports fishing rules proposed by the department, the commission and the public.

The Commission is scheduled to take action on the proposed rule changes in February 2010 either to: ) adopt as proposed; ) modify; or ) may not be adopted; if adopted or modified they would take effect May 1, 2010.


Public Meeting locations and dates are as follows: ( Meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. - except Port Angeles (6:30 p.m.)

Sept 30 - Carpenter's Hall, 507 Third Street, Yakima
Oct 6 - WDFW's Mill Creek Office, 16018 Mill Creek Blvd. Mill Creek
Oct 7 - Penninsula College, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Room J47, Port Angeles
Oct 8 - WDFW's Vancouver Office, 2108 Grand Blvd., Vancouver
Oct 13 - WDFW Headquarters, Natural Resources Building, Room 172, 1111 Washington St. S.E. Olympia

During these meetings, the public will have the opportunity to discuss the proposals with WDFW staff and submit comments at this time - comments can also be submitted by email/mail to WDFW Rules Coordinator, Lori Preuss at preuslmp@dwf.wa.gov or 600 Capitol Way North, Olympia, WA 98501

Under a new timeline - comments will be accepted through December 1st.
