Ahtanum State Forest Recreation Plan

Postby Grumpy » Fri Nov 06, 2009 8:56 pm

The Department of Natural Resources has just issued their "Notice of Final Determination for the Ahtanum State Forest Recreation Plan" (SEPA File No. 09-090901)

The threshold determination is hereby - retained.

Summary of comments and responses indicated the DNR had received nine SEPA comments in response to the Recreation Plan. These comments were submitted directly to the SEPA Center or collected during an Ahtanum Recreation Public Meeting held on September 22, 2009. In general, comments were supportative of the proposed plan and several comments requested a higher enforcement presence and missing information regarding recreation funding sources. Both errors have been corrected and updated in the final plan; two comments voiced concern regarding motorized activity along the proposed William O. Douglas Trail location. Responses have been written for each comment received during the SEPA process.

Responsible Official: Gary Berndt, Acting Southeast Region Manager, Washington Department of Natural Resources, 713 Bowers Road, Ellensburg, WA. 98926 (509) 925-8510 (Dated - November 4, 2009 - signed Gary Berndt)
