Spokane BLM RMP-IMPORTANT
Posted: Thu May 06, 2010 7:12 pm
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Spokane District is seeking public input as it begins revising its Resource Management Plan (RMP).
This new RMP will provide overall management direction for the next two decades for approximately 445,000 acres of BLM administered public lands in Eastern Washington and in the San Jaun Archipelago - one reason for the RMP is due to the number of land exchanges.
The first opportunity is the scheduled "scoping meetings" allowing the public to help identify issues to be addressed in the revision, these six open house "scoping" meetings, BLM specialists will be discussing the RMP; they will also be seeking suggestions regarding land use issues which should be addressed in the plan.
Scheduled meetings - locations, dates and times are as follows:
May 17 - Memorial Hall, 511 Park Street - Davenport (6:00 - 8:00 pm)
May 26 - Chelan PUD 327 N. Wenatchee Ave - Wenatchee (6:00 - 8:00 pm)
May 27 - Tonasket High School, School Commons, 35 Highway 20 - Tonasket (6:00 - 8:00 pm)
June 1 - TRAC Center, 6600 Burden Blvd, Room 4 - Pasco (6:00 - 8:00 pm)
June 5 - Mullis Senior Center, 589 Nash Street - Friday Harbor - (12:00 - 4:00 pm)
June 12 - Quality Inn, 1700 Canyon Road - Ellensburg - (12:00 - 3:00 pm)
The BLM will accept public comments through June 25, 2010.
