Gentlemen,
I have picked up a rumor that, in the course of "revamping" the budget process, that the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office (NOVA) may be "on the chopping block". Could I impose and ask what you know about this, and who needs to have pressure put on to keep this from happening? NOVA is currently in limbo, and has had a detrimental affect on many recreation programs in the state, most notably on the Department of Natural Resources.
My fear is that, should a major change take place in the budget process, these funds will be lost, and the money go to other areas not outlined in how NOVA funds are to be used. Again. The current situation with these funds is bad enough. As the Senator is aware, this is a hot item for a lot of us out here. We in the off road community are seeking answers, but not getting anything good.
Best Regards,
Dave Walters
