On Friday, September 10, the Washington Watershed Restoration Initiative held an awards ceremony to honor three of the key people who helped create the Legacy Roads and Trails Remediation Initiative.

•Congressman Norm Dicks received a Clean Water Hero Award;
•Former Department of Ecology Director Jay Manning received an Environmental Champion Award; and
•Pacific Northwest Forest Service Regional Engineer Tom Erkert received a Data Daylight Honorable Mention for providing an analysis that was critical to the creation of Legacy Roads and Trails.
KBKW radio in WA posted a short article about the award ceremony here: Report Gives Thumbs-Up to Pacific NW Legacy Roads Program.

In addition, the Peninsula Daily News ran this article: U.S. Rep. Dicks, governor's chief of staff receive clean water awards.
