Little Rattlesnake

Postby Grumpy » Wed May 22, 2013 2:47 pm

Didn't this just get opened?!?!

Just received a memo regarding the FSR 1501 aka Little Rattlesnake Road (at mile post .05 and .02).
Comments are being requested, there are two alternatives the Naches Ranger District is proposing; the results are closing and decommissioning or repairing the road at both damaged sites and re-opening access; there is a 30 day deadline.

Further information on the 1501 Flood Repair Project EA can be found at <http> under the heading "Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest Current and Recent Projects."

Only those who submit timely comments will be accepted as appellants in the appeal process.

I believe they are talking about the access road to the Little Rattlesnake Trail. It was taken out with the storm a few years ago. The last couple years I have ran that trail at the Jamboree, we had to take another route. A long dusty series of roads up, around, and over to get to the trailhead. From Bethel Ridge Rd, we pass the Little Rattlesnake Rd with a Road Closed sign on the way. The guys said when it was still open, the Little Rattlesnake trail was a lot easier to get to.

Looks like they are doing repair work on the actual trail also.
Ron Rutherford and the Forrest Service have put a lot of energy into this summer's project. Here are the details: https://dl.dropboxus...ail Project.pdf
