Rock Creek Road Reopened

NACHES— The Naches Ranger District reopened Rock Creek Road, also known as Forest Road 1702, after construction was completed last week. This opening is just in time for Forest Road 1702 to once again become a Washington State Sno-Park with grooming beginning December 15th.

Rock Creek Road was one of 40 roads on the Naches and Cle Elum Ranger Districts damaged by the May 2011 flood event. Emergency Relief of Federally Owned Roads (ERFO) funds were secured to assist the Forest Service in addressing damage to Rock Creek and other roads. After an environmental analysis it was determined access on Forest Road 1702 was essential and a repair was analyzed.
