I noticed this picture someone posted on Facebook, apparently it's a sign hanging in a cafe at Liberty. Have you heard of this one Dave? It's possible you posted something already and I missed it. I did some searching online and also found this pdf that explains the Swauk Pine Restoration Project and it shows some maps of the affected trails. I'm not familiar enough with the Liberty area to know if these are any of the trails we normally run. Maybe Curtis or Steve would know. The document states this area encompsses designtated critical habitat for steelhead, spotted owl, wolf's, and it's part of the "North Cascades Grizzly Bear Recovery Zone"

Re: Potential Liberty road closures?
Thanks David. I saw this, but got drug shopping before I got a chance to dig into it. I don't know those trails either, so am going to rely on the wisdom of others until I root around some more. Does sound like it will affect things a mite.

Re: WA State OHV Map Catalog
It appears to me that this project is targeting sever short 4x4 trails that we have run near the town of Liberty. They are step, rutted, nearly routes which provide a challenge for most rigs. Rats that this area is targeted for some "greenie feel good" projects that will likely benefit a only a few commercial outfits.
I don't Text (at least not very well), I eat Blackberrys, and I only Twitter after sex...
Re: WA State OHV Map Catalog
Without a dought it will close some of our trails. I'd have to cross reference my Liberty wheeling map but I recognize 9705000 as they have listed, is a great trail for the views and very challenging.

Re: Potential Liberty road closures?
Hopefully it will still be open 4th of July weekend. Dale Newman from the PNW4DA would know more. He has a work party for the trails around Liberty every year prior to Memorial Day.

Let me know if this doesn't work. Shows closures and "long term storage"
