Little Rattlesnake Open-With Restrictions

The following was received from the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest Supervisor's Office addressing the Little Rattlesnake travel restrictions and requirements.

ORDER # 715

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.55 (d), the following acts are prohibited on National Forest System Four Wheel Drive Trail 15011680 (Little Rattlesnake) in Township 15 North Range 14 East, Section 32 and 33; and Township 14 North, Range 14 East, Sections 5,6,and 7; within the Naches District of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest:

(1) For the purpose of this order, operating a vehicle in violation of the width, height, length or other limitations specified by this order.

(a) Vehicles are not to exceed 75 inches in width as measured from outside of tire to outside of tire; and
(b) Vehicle wheelbase is not to exceed 95 inches in length from center of axle to center of axle.
(c) Vehicles will be allowed to travel in one direction only (west to southwest) from the terminus of Little Rattlesnake Forest System Road 1501 (Township 15 North, Range 14 East, Section 32) to Bethel Ridge Forest System Road 1500 (Township 14 North, Range 14 East, Section 7). (36 CFR 261.55 (d).

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (e), the following persons are exempt from this order:

(1) Persons with a permit or written authorization specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
(2) Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.

Looks like Steve's rig will never see this trail as it stands with these rules...Not sure on width, but 5" too much wheelbase :?

I'll never see this trail either.. hard to believe it's that tight. What about those of us who don't care about body damage :D

I don't think tight had anything to do with it! The PNW guys that were in on it are old school, and they all drive "real" Jeeps. How's that for me being cynical...

I'm fine my wheel base is 93"
Width may get me though. I would have to measure but 76 sticks in my head.

We could all take turns riding with Curtis and the rest of the short wheelbase group :)

It was mentioned at last nights PNW meeting that in one day, three trees were cut down and one bypass was made on the Little Ratsnake. There was also a fair amount of litter along the trail.

Map of area? I have heard of it, but don't know for sure where it is... Obviously can't take the minivan due to wheelbase now :?
