My cousin's brother-in-law Danny invited us along on their 4th of July camping trip at Rimrock. Fishing, wheeling, and hanging out around the fire. The water was just a tad bit cold so the jet skis stayed on the trailer.
On Thursday night my cousin and I loaded up the Comanche to the max and headed out about 10pm, made it to camp around 1am. Friday we hit the lower Rimrock trails.
On Saturday we hit some of the upper Rimrock trails. The first trail we hit ended up being Pucker Ridge . Needless to say we turned around after about 1/4 mile once we figure out what trail we were on. I always thought I wanted to try and run that trail but I'm not so sure now after seeing it in person.
We then headed for the 651A trail (crying Franks hill), but there was a downed tree right at the trailhead and we didn't have a chainsaw. So we headed up to 651 and started up. The ground was a little muddy and it made the hill climbs real loose.
Loaded and ready to hit the road:
This is that super steep rockey hill climb. DJ gave it a heck of an effort, with no front locker he couldn't quite get past the off camber spots.
Locked front and rear Danny was able to conquer the hill.
This is where we turned around on the Pucker Ridge trail. This looked to be about the last spot to turn around. We walked the trail a ways to check it out, wish I had brought my camera to get some pics.
Heading up 651:
Spam's first Jeepin trip :
This is the steep rocky loose hill climb. I tried and tried and made it about 3/4 of the way up. Came back down and took the easier route just to the right. We then discovered the Cherokee had a U-joint in real bad shape. We decided to head back down.

looke like a really nice outing. I've been too rimrock but with jimmy, never in my rig...and I reallly want to. I'm hoping to make the 19th trip toby is trying to get going.
Kristen's due the 29th, so I'll likely miss the Rimrock trip on the 19th
I might call another Rimrock run later in August/September. I think it's best to drop into Rimrock from Ahtanum like Curtis and I did last year. It puts you right on the good trails.
