Peak Putters - Liberty July 4th Run, 2008

Postby SPR » Sun Jul 06, 2008 7:59 pm

A few of the Peak Putter members and several guests ran trails in the Liberty are on July 4, 5, and 6. I have attached pictures from the weekend.

Dion and I showed up early Thursday morning on July 3 to stake a camp site. We had a great day of swatt'en bugs and eat'en popsicles while waiting for folks to arrive. Late Thursday night, the a thunder storm moved through and put on a good light show with surround sound. The weather was sunny and mild for the rest of the weekend.

On day 1. With six rigs, we ran the mosquito trial that takes you up to the “Thelma and Louiseâ€

Knew I should have given Ed a call but looks like he found a rider.

What a great trip! Definitely worth the time messing around on the rear axle. Got to see some new places and get to know a few more people. I will post up some pics as well when I get the chance.

Definitely going back when I get the chance.

Great weekend. We ran a couple of new trails to the system that were very tight. Hopefully the oversizers won't get in and widen them. The weather was perfect and we covered a lot of ground. That bunny just keeps going and going and going. Another highlight would have to be the parade and BBQ/potluck put on the the people of Liberty with hands on gold panning lessons, cherry pit spitting contest and a town wide happy hour. The turnout was by far their largest. The campground has been improved with vaulted toilets, fire pits and graveled roads but is still free with plenty of room for all. Lets do it again next year.
