Peak Putters - Ahtanum, Memorial Weekend - 2007

Postby commando14 » Mon May 28, 2007 1:53 pm

This was a very fun run! We covered a lot of ground. There was still plenty of snow and challenges. Oddball called the run and was our trail leader.

The sno park was overfilled with quads, but we only seen one quad on the trail all weekend.
For some reason they like to just run circles around camp and stir up the dust.

On Saturday the plan was head to Blue Lake.

The trail to Blue Lake has been pretty much been destroyed by the logging. We had a hard time finding the way.

Most of the trail is now covered with logs and brush.

We had to cross this water hole to get back on the trail:

We started getting into the snow just below Blue Lake:

We then headed down Divide Ridge and down Jackass I believe. Still plenty of snow on top.. it was fun!

Starting to head back down: (Oh yea.. Curtis you have a tail light out  )

It was a good time! It's too bad all the logging is destroying some of the trails.

We should have at least a few runs up there every spring.

Looks like you guys had a real good time. Thanks for the help with Irishscout's tire. We didn't get back to the cabin until 12:30 Saturday night. The two other Scouts dug some deep holes in the snow when they had to winch out so that made a fun trip to the down Scout and back for me. I had to winch a few time to get back out of Blue Lake. Too much fun! :D

I was hoping to wheel with you guys on Sunday but nothing went right that morning. Maybe next time.

Thank's again for the help.
