Peak Putters - Ahtanum - June 3rd, 2007

Postby commando14 » Sun Jun 03, 2007 9:04 pm

This was a fun day run up to Ahtanum called by OG.

We went up the Mid-Fork to Darland Mt. and came back down the North Fork.

The weather was perfect! OG and myself had some overheating problems heading up to the snow line.

The snow was melting fast, this was probably our last snow run of the year.

Toby lost a bead and was attempting to get on level ground when the tire came off. He put his spare on and was good to go.

This Ford Ranger attempted to pass us and fell into a big hole. I attempted to get behind him to winch him out, but I fell into the hole too and had to get pulled out.

Here's the GPS file from the trip, you can load this in Google Earth and it will show the route we took.

That's pretty cool! Wish I had a newer GPS.

It was a good run. . . We didn't really go to far. . just ran the loop because most of us needed to head back early.

The weather was perfect, the snow was extra mashed-tatery, good group of guys, minimal down time. All in all. . WAY better than being here in the 100* weather.
