Teaser. . .with more to follow:

We lunched at the summit. Don't let the windswept landscape on top fool you. . .there was snow. Hoarfrost, coarse sugar and concrete. It was EXACTLY like the silt we run into desert racing, except that it was COLD. Good times for sure.

For the record. . .I drove out of that spot. . .

Caption:

If 4 tires on the trail is an A, 3 tires is a C and C is passing? No? Screw it, I'll just air down and give it more throttle.

Video of the Early snow conditions. . .You'd just be driving along, MYOGDB, and then fall into course ground sugar concrete in the middle. . .

We met. We drove. Dave off-loaded. Jim and I aired down.

The kids got into the first snow wheelin’ of the day:

We headed up FS-1302, and were greeted with some nice views:

After what seemed like miles of bouncing over a mix of ice and rock, we found a snowy patch to let the kids out and try some sledding:

That about covers it. . .one more detail:

We rolled up to the start of FS1302 without incident. Much to our surprise EVERY law enforcement and search/rescue vehicle in Yakima County pulled up directly behind us.

I padded over to the lead dog and asked what was up. He informed me that a hunter was 3x days missing. Described the vehicle and deputized our group. BOOM! It was a rescue mission.

Sadly, we were not able to locate said missing dude. . .I hope he's OK>

Was this the missing guy? Missing Yakima bow hunter found near Rimrock

Teams searched a different portion of the area Sunday, after being told that the man preferred to hunt below the snow line, Town said. The man finally was found on Forest Road 1201 near Rimrock.

No wonder Jim and crew didn't find him... Peak Putters prefer to search above the snow line.

Did you guys go in and out 1302 or did you make the loop and come out Hatton Rd or Cowiche Mill?

IN/Out on 1302. Dave parked the tow rig at the bottom or would have come out on Cowiche Mill just for giggles.

That is where FS1201 is! Lost Lake was what I was thinking of Toby. But, yeah. . .that area is pretty remote most of the year.

How about that dumb a$$ in the green YJ that couldn't remember which switch operated the front locker vs the rear. Oh wait, that was me.

Thanks for the great day Toby/Jim.

Sorry about cutting in behind you as you were reversing in that drifted meadow area Jim. I thought you were done... I've now learned that stopped doesn't mean done, and you're not done until I see you outside of your Jeep. :D

As soon as it snows again. . .we will go. We have a new egress route planned that will require driving your wheeler to the trailhead. . .it is one way. The alternative would be to unload in Yakima. Mapped it all out today.

Keep your eyes peeled. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
