Peak Putters Ahtanum Snow Run - March 29th, 2008
This run was a blast! The old snow was real hard and you could stay on top, but the new snow on top was fluffy. Very challenging stuff and fun! Everyone got stuck and everyone had their moments of leading the pack and busted the trail.

We had 4 rigs in attendance: Rich and Laura, Scumby, my dad and my grandpa, and me. We were on the trail at 9am and got back to Tampico around 5pm.

First we went up the usual Nasty Creek road and we were close to where it connects to Jackass, but the new snow was getting deeper and harder going. We decided to go back down and go up the main road (I think it's A5000) and towards Strobach Mt. Don't know where we actually were at since we never been that way but we made it pretty high. We met some Jeepers from the Yakima Valley Outlaws. One of them broke an axle so they were heading back down.

And this was truly the snow drift from hell. :demon

Video of all four us giving it a hail mary run:

Scumby pulled out his "Pull Pal" winch anchor contraption thingy to see how it would work in the snow.

I think everyone was suprised when it actually worked! And it worked good! He winched right up the hill with it. Sure would be a handy thing to have if you alone and stuck with no trees.

This is the huge drift that stopped us. It was getting late and we decided to head back down after a full day of wheelin.

That looks like an absolute blast! Thanks for posting up.

Scumby's snow anchor sure looks cool. Didn't know they would work in the snow.
Okay, we're a little crazy to have a Duramax for a daily driver. But if we go off our meds, we might wind up in a Prius.

Scumby's little scrambler that thought he could. :ouin

I especially like the adaptation of the sea anchor...you can tell Al was a sea dog. :ouioui
