Peak Putters - Three Ball (Oct 20th, 2012)

Postby SPR » Sat Oct 20, 2012 4:02 pm

Tim's Three Ball Race was a hoot. As Ron White said, "It's not that the wind is blow'en... it's what the wind is blow'en." In this case it was sand.

Here are the results in case you're interested.

Time in Seconds Time 1 Time 2 Time 3 Average STDev
1David 101 89 84 91 7
2Roy 96 87 92 92 4

9Papa 134 149 107 130 17
10Lance 166 112 127 135 23

Name Seconds

3-ball looked fun. Might have to stick around for more than 5 minutes next time and give it a try.

Man, that looks like it was a lot of fun. I really wanted to make it to that event but brown Santa brought me a lift kit on Friday, and I obviously had to install it immediately. Of course it took longer then expected and the jeep was out of commission until Sunday. Hope to make the next one.

I totally get that, Brown Santa brought me my rear bumper yesterday, I had to install it. Now I need to dial it in a bit. I need a 3rd Eye (brake light), and to figure how I will place my rear plate, and re-run my CB antenna cable, oh and I need to install my rear winch, the tricky part to that will be the power cable and where to stuff the control box...

But hey, I'm having a blast! next weekend I must find Snow!

3 Ball was a ball. (Surprise.) About half of us met up at Roberto's for the required breakfast burritos. That group met up with the rest of the ballers at Juniper. The turnout was good and this fund raiser raised $100 toward the FYBR cabin bill. Thanks Tim, this was a great fund raising idea. There must have been some rain, because the sand was forgiving. The wind did howl and filled vehicles and pants with sand.

Tim brought a traveling trophy that he has constructed from broken Ford parts (are their other kind of Ford parts?) I'm sure it has been posted, but it bears repeating Tim's genius. The trophy must be modified and displayed with pride by the winner. The winner must make sure the trophy arrives back at the next three ball event. Many of us have big plans for that prize.
Roy showed at Juniper with a Water Follies / Peak Putters trophy from 1969 updated with a 3 ball badge for 2012. I had meant to make a quick showing and bail with my Jeeper chicks... at this point I threw the doors off and was in it to win it for one of those trophies. Of course I did not win, but I was within 3 seconds of average time for the traveling trophy. [Shakes fist at JKLance] :-)

After 3 ball nearly all of us went to play in our big ole sandbox. Wee-wee-wee... I am sure that we will have another 3 ball fund raiser before FYBR... just looking for the right weekend.

For the record, David had the best time and won the classic trophy. JKLance bears the great responsibility of the traveling trophy. We will probably make a sticky thread to track our 3 ball Stanley cup.

Okay, we're a little crazy to have a Duramax for a daily driver. But if we go off our meds, we might wind up in a Prius.

Wally World $18 a set ( I have 4 sets, and might add a 4th), by the way I got a present for you, I no longer need my OEM trailer hitch, so it's yours if you want it...
