Peak Putters - A&B Run (8-8-2013)

Postby Livin4Today » Mon Aug 12, 2013 10:49 pm

Sunday, 8/18/2013 - 9 am, meet at Conoco roll out 9:15 to creep the canyons. I'm calling this run as a breakout run for my buddy Bryan who will finally get a chance to wheel his CJ-7. The more of us that show up the better the chances are he'll consider our club. He's an exceptional wheeler and a good guy to know so join us Sunday!

Building a capable off roader is easy, building a street legal one that you can wheel and then drive daily is the challenge...

It would be nice to get out after Saturday's wedding, but I won't be able to. If I got something caught between my t-case skid and my cats A&B would end up looking like a moonscape, if you know what I mean.
Okay, we're a little crazy to have a Duramax for a daily driver. But if we go off our meds, we might wind up in a Prius.

Is that too rough for my stock JKU? Interested in going, but not in killing my Jeep.

 dagg-nabbitt. That would be a perfect opportunity to test out the new goody on the Heep.
But, it's my daughter's last day in town, and my X booked her return flight smack dab in the middle of the day.

@ Doug,

You may wanna go back and look at so previous runs out here at A & B, I ran it stock, but it took a few snaps back at me, took out my right side phony step boards, and popped my RR fender off, but it was an awesome run...

I'd say bring it, just take off the plastic steps and drive carefully...

BONECRUSHER is in. Not sure if my better half will make it. Emergency room visit today. Hurt her back. Hopefully Vadim will pull the trigger on Thursday and join us.

Edit: thanks for calling it on Sunday. After telling you I work Saturday I think that's pretty sweet! Need to break him in!

Take the back part or all of the hardtop off too, more precaution...

@ New Mike, come on out same recommendations as Doug above (cept I don't think you have the steps... 4 hours is a good guess, but my buddy Bryan (Guest of Honor) hasn't wheeled in 18 months so I won't be surprised if it lasts a little longer but I guarantee it will be fun and educational!

Thanks for the info. So I'm running door-less right now, would it be best to stay that way. And I have a softtop on but it's folded back. I should probably just take that completely off?..

Once again I'm a noob, so for give the girly question. Is this going to be real dusty, and am I going to get out of this without body damage. This is a daily driver also. I want to adventure, but I'm not looking to beat the crap out of my rig..

Thanks all
Mike

Mike, I am running topless, but will have doors on. I expect it will be a bit dusty. I think Lance lost a fender one time when he went out to A & B. I went back and looked at the previous runs out there, I don't think you would get any damage as long as you drive carefully. Mine is a 2013 w/only 2000 miles on it so I am not planning on hurting mine either as it is my daily driver. Check out the previous runs on here i think you will get a good idea of what to expect.

I forgot to remind everyone to bring your cameras, and plenty to drink its gonna be warm and of course dusty. Coolers if you got them to keep your drinks cold. And you may wanna grab some munchies at Conoco to stave off hunger for awhile.

See us in a few hours!

They should be there soon. I can call Lance if you need me to.

Wish I could go. Meeting the parents for brunch in a few before my daughter flight leaves. :(

Edit: Just called him and he is already there with you. Six minutes after meeting time! LoL.

Glad to hear there was no damage.
Great pics too, but they really should be in a RUN REPORT.
Otherwise, they will disappear when the upcoming events section is updated.
