Peak Putters - GOOTH A&B/Webber Run (2/23/14)

GOOTH A&B/Webber Run - 2/23/14

This run started out like many of the other runs with me being a late arrival, but I think I have a good excuse we (over) celebrated Mandi's birthday last night, and we just don't recover as fast anymore.

We met at the BC Conoco at 10ish, Good Turnout TJ Dave, Scumby, Yrjan, myself, Bryan and Luis. We then headed out to conquer Webber 1. Now this is where things became interesting, Luis had his newer Nissan Frontier, and apparently was called out by someone to prove his rig was trail ready (No offense, but it wasn't).

Webber 1 always entertains, but today we made it about a 1/3 of the way up and were shutdown and turned around by a landslide of tumbleweeds. Bryan was leading and tried to make a path, but when the tumbleweeds were starting to roll over his hood, we called him back. Two issue was we can't see what's under them and we didn't want to start a fire and lose a rig. So we decided to turn around and head back to A&B. Sneaking in the back way we took the canyon before the one we ran up our last visit with all the JKs.

Luis decided he'd taken as much of a beating as he needed and pulled out and headed home. Hope we didn't scare him away, maybe next time he'll consider a Jeep for wheelin, as opposed to a long lil' pick-up...

About 3/4 of the way up the D-35 in Bryan's TJ checked out with a bang, so Al got up a side hill and we prepared to do a mega long winch run like 150 feet or so. After we got all the cable out and ready we found Bryan was able to drive it up and out. So we stopped and ran the cable back in before continuing up the hill and back to BC.

Carnage, well I don't know about everybody else but Julia scarred up a rear fender flare, 3 wheels and both outriggers... But all her skin is intact.... Enjoy the pics.... Videos will follow...

Webber Ends and we head over to an A&B canyon... Much less room for errors at A&B...

Great run. Great fun. Thanx Lance for calling the run.
I didn't even break anything that wasn't already broken. Just a couple new scratches on the bottom of the rear bumper and rock sliders.

I'll go with the super hwy for Webber, but that A&B canyon was TIGHT! Julia's new scars prove that, getting them made the hairs on both mine and Mandi's neck stand up... (alright at least hers), as it sounded akin to fingernails on chaulkboards...

just up webber canyon kinda where everyone use to go shooting. you pass it if you take the back road to oregon.

that tj that broke is actally amazing. dang thing goes anywhere with the most basic set up. you cant expect a welded d35 to last anyway so enjoy what time ya got. now hes looking at my ford hp44/d60 for it.

Yep, saw that in the video. Why did you take that line? Looked easy to go around. Go over big rocks and you can expect a little tummy rub.

See Scumby helping Lance? It looks deceiving... The tilt factor increased the pucker factor going around. I would have layed it over onto that rock without help. I didn't want help, help is for sissys (Lance)... Baa hahahaha!

I may have scratched my rocker knockers but that's what they are for and you can't see the damage. You can however see the damage to your right rear fender that you took taking the "proper" line around that obstacle...

Funny. I always wheeled rigs that it didn't matter what it looked like. Never steered away from body damage
