New Years Run 2025
Re: New Years Run 2025
Mike, another awesome video!
Great time, less snow than I "hoped" for but more than I thought would actually be there since its been warm and raining lately. Unfortunately it was pure sugar!
Didn't make it to the 1302 intersection, but definitely had fun! We were only 1/4 mile away.
Eastern Washington Mall Crawlers assaulted the hill from the other side (Hyw12) and made it to within 1.2 miles of the cabin. I was figuring we would run into each other somewhere on trail, or at the cabin but that was meant to be.
GMRS radios worked great, Mike had a sack of loaner radios for those not equipped! The hand helds (walkies) worked great in the group, but the mobiles with bigger antennas really rocked. Mike and a few other rigs headed for the trailers early only to discover someone had left their truck windows down and doors unlocked (silly smart key fob) and was able to contact us on radio up on the hill. 10 miles through hills and trees!

Oh, I can think of someone...

Re: New Years Run 2025
On the way down to the trailers my Jeep started making a strange tick/clunk sound. I was thinking front driveline, maybe a front axle u-joint, front locker. Lee and I looked it over on the trailer but nothing was obvious. I looked it over again this morning twisting drive shafts/unlocking hubs. I was really starting to hope it was the front locker (Lock-Rite) due to "ease" of replacement.
Then I found this

Are we supposed to re-torque those things periodically? I've heard it's a good idea, but I've never actually done it.
Great video! Wish I could of made it. Not sure how the minivan would have done.

LOL, shoosh...
I've checked them in the past, found loose lug nuts before. Always thought someone was messing with the Jeep at the house. Now thinking I may be a bit abusive to this poor guy
