Ive decided...

Postby DefiantSD » Sun Mar 04, 2012 7:41 pm

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the info, and input on my jeep. Ive decided that im going to run with the detroit locker, tube front fenders, air compressor.

I now am only stuck with one problem my tires, I currently have Mickey Thompson Baja Claws, 2 with good tread and 3 with almost no tread. They have been good tires they do ok on rock Great in mud and snow, on road in winter youd have better luck driving slicks around.

I am going to order a new set and im partial to the aggressive tread, I have been looking at the BFG Krawlers but they are way out of my price range, then i liked the procomp Xtreeain raidal but since there so close to the mickey thompson's i dont wana go back to the same thing.

So at this point I have no idea, Ive only owned the mickey thompson baja claws and would appreciate the input from what youve owned.
im looking to spend about 300 a tire and want 35's

THANKS!

I really like my Firestone Destination M/T's.

If you want better snow and ice traction out of the MT's, get them siped. There really is no need to go more aggressive than a good MT unless you love to frequent MUD.

I like my Mickey Thompson MTZ's, they do really well on the trails like Rimrock, Naches, etc... In the snow they do ok. I got all 4 35"tires shipped to my door for $800 on ebay.. but those prices are long gone. And I agree with getting them siped... I had my previous tires siped and I really think it helped. I never have siped my MTZ's but I plan on buying an Ideal Tire Groover and use it to sipe them.

Ive ran the km2s there one of my fav tires. Only issues i had were in the snow.. they dig down and dont float on top.. i would suggest the new mtr's. They are the tire i am going to by next... I have a few friends running them and they love them.
