Heater help?

Postby GRADESCHOOL » Tue Nov 06, 2007 7:29 pm

Ok so when i turn my heater on my jeep dies sometimes, it is not constant at all. Then you go to try to start it and it cranks for a while then starts and is really gassy smelling. If i am on the freeway or driving it will just die, it only happens when the heater is on. I already replaced the crankshaft position sensor, and my dad did the throttle position sensor a couple years back. Any ideas what it could be?

Maybe you got a vacuum leak, but that's weird it would completely die. Does it only seem to happen when you're on the highway going up hills or have a load on it?

are the heater doors vacuum actuated on that rig? I concur with the other gentleman's concurance to the diagnosis. It is stone cold suckin'.
