So what do I need to do? My parked truck hit by a drunk

I won't go into too much detail. I was out with my wife, her friend, and Tim out in Kennewick. We walked out of the bars to watch my parked truck get hit as the another driver backed into it. Anyway my wife acting pretty quick getting the cops over and keeping the guy there. He was trying to leave. He was obviously drunk but at least he had insurance. The cops took some pics and worked on getting a report together and we watched him get handcuffed and taken away.

Anyway I've contacted the other driver's insurance and got the ball rolling on a claim. They said they will call me back in a few days. I'm not waiting and will work on getting a few estimates in the next few days if all the shops aren't closed. Is there anything else I should be doing?





It's not a huge amount of damage and the truck's driveable, but I want this fixed right.

Don't let their insurance guys tell you where you need to take your truck for repair. You don't even have to get three quotes. Just take your truck to Mel's in Kennewick and have them deal with the insurance company. Simple enough if you don't let folks BS you. Do you have "under insured motorist" on your policy? Worst case, you pay a $100 deductable or so, and let your insurance company deal with the other guys.

I do have "underinsured motorist" coverage but the other guy did have full coverage. I'm pretty sure its easy to determine who's at fault, lol.

Just an update. Took it into Atomic Autobody in Richland. Long story short the whole driver's side bedside is being replaced with new sheetmetal welded in place and repainted with the two tone scheme I currently have. 1400 bucks in damage. I took it there on my own (without input from any insurance company) but it turns out that Enumclaw Insurance (the guy's insurance) is a really good one with them and pretty much lets them do what they want to fix vehicles. (coming from the guy who looked at the truck)

I'm getting a rental car out of the deal too. Think I might see if they have a truck or an SUV because I need to transport my wife's photobooth to First Night Tri-Cities as we have a gig there.
