If it does happen I guess it's easy to fix though. And even then it's still better than being seen driving a Tundra. j/k

I did a little reading on that subject before we bought our motorhome.

Ford Triton V10 spark plug issue
3-4 threads were initally used for the spark plugs in the cylinder heads.
Initial Ford reaction was to change the torque procedure at the factory, apparently to reduce over- or under-torque. This was around the 2000 timeframe.
Late in the calendar-year 2000, Ford altered the head to include an "alignment feature" that reduced cross-threading or incorrect torque at the factory.
Late in the calendar-year 2002, Ford increased the number of threads in the head to approximately 7-8 threads, called "long-thread" heads.

From what I have seen on the 4.6, 5.4, and 6.8 engines is they usually only have a problem when the plugs are replaced improperly. Usually some one who is inexperienced doing it at home.
You can follow me.... but it's gonna hurt ;)

Yep, 8mpg is what all the Ford V10 rental motorhomes at Broadmoor RV got.

The Chevy's with the 6.0 got a solid 10mpg.

Toby, run a 20% mix of Marvels next oil change and see how it does. I have always seen a solid, permanent mpg increase.

And I completely agree about the wheels. Those big, blingin' wheels are always detrimental to fuel mileage. When I worked at Firestone, we had a customer with a nice Escalade that said he lost nearly 20% in fuel mileage when he replaced the stock wheels with 22" chrome bling.

Also, I dont have any experience with the V10, but my Mercury with the 5.0 responded very well to a tuner. I have the XCal III from Explorer Express, and it made a noticeable increase in mileage and power (about 10%).

Not a fair comparison, but the V-10 van I drive at work (240K) consistently gets just under 6mpg. Our 7.3's get about 11mpg. They run 4.56 gears in the monsters...

Sooooooooooooo much better!! Actually drives like it should, and looks a lot more respectable IMO. New-to-me tires are pretty well worn out, so I'll keep my eyes peeled for a set of 285's, but I'll take this swap any day of the week 8)
Yep, I've wheeled one of those, too...
