Dual license an option for Discorvery pass?

Interesting, don't need a Discovery pass if you have plates and ORV tag, Dual license.

Yes, the tow pig would need a DP unless dual licensed also.
IIRC, when I did the Jeep a couple years ago, it was about $80 to dual license it. Just got the renewal and about $26 with all taxes for the ORV tag. So just paying for the ORV will make up for a DP in 4yrs. The good side would be all the ORV money goes into the NOVA fund, not 8.4% to DNR to use as they want.

This is my understanding from the link above.

Quoted from japerry off NW-Wheelers:
This is the key with Collector plates.. do it in its own transaction. Once you register the rig as a dual registration, the ORV reg is pretty much separate from the regular registration. Do this the first year.. or go in the next day, it doesn't matter.

They key is to get the collector plates AFTER you get the ORV tabs. Then you can move your plate over, and I've seen the screen, it doesn't prompt at all for your ORV registration because you put in the plate number instead.

I'm glad my junk is dual registered. much rather give $30 to a dedicated account than 8% of it. Also important, the ORV tab funds are separate from the rest of NOVA. I believe (Pokey/Tod correct me if I'm wrong), ORV tabs did not get redirected, just the gas tax portion. Still bad, but not as bad.

Makes sense, get the ORV tag first, then go get the Collector plate. I do get two registrations for my dual reg. Jeep.
