Warn and Brown Santa Team Up

Postby Danny » Tue Dec 31, 2013 3:14 pm

Thanks to the fog lifting, Brown Santa finally came through. Figured that the first thing the new JK would need is a good winch, cause probably the first thing that's going to happen when we start wheel is im getting stuck. Found a smoking holiday deal from Amazon that I couldn't pass up. So, first step in the JK transformation....it's a 10,000.

Now that you have recovery checked off the list, all you need is a CB and the build will be complete
Yep, I've wheeled one of those, too...

Would if I could. Just hope I can tuck it in behind the existing bumper...with a few mods. Have the measurements to take back and will do some fingering. Might try to find a simple bumper for delivery for when we get back. Little lift is next.

Nice! Should be enough to pull me out of a snow bank!

Factory look without fab work?
The new 2014 Rubicon "X" supposedly comes with a winch ready metal bumper in place of the usual chunk of JK plastic. Factory look with sunken winch. Then I saw the prices. Holy crap they want a lot, even used take offs.

Then there's this...

2018 JLU Rubicon
Tow bar mount
Trailer hitch

Let me know when you're ready...

JKU #1 had a fabricated bumper based on a TJ winch plate, leaving the winch above the rails. I liked it well enough, but...

JKU #2 had a ninja-style sunken/hidden winch integrated into the factory bumper fascia. Next to the XJ, it was easily my most complicated winch mount endeavor, but in my opinion it looked great.
Yep, I've wheeled one of those, too...
