Lifting an XJ 3".

Postby TJDave » Tue Feb 25, 2014 5:58 pm

I'm trying to help out a friend. What's the best and most economical way?
Without rear blocks.
And does anyone have any parts available?
Thank you!

Cheapest:

-3" coil spacers in the front, add-a-leaf in the rear.

Better for front/more expensive: Moog CC784 front coils, 1.5" spacer. Last pair of 1.5" boost spacers I actually found on a Cherokee in PAW. You can also rob the stock spacers/dampers from any Jeep out there, which are about 1" thick each.

The stock front springs are very weak. The CC784 are the UpCountry progressive coils with a higher load rating. Check around, I think the last pair I bought was under $60 brand new. They are DRAMATICALLY better offroad than the stock springs.

Shocks: I believe the best bang-for-buck are the nitro charged Rough Country sets. Not the premium ones, but the cheapest nitros they sell. The best deal I found was on Ebay, straight from RC.

Bastard pack rear leaf seem pretty common on a lot of budget lifts.
