) on an issue I had this weekend on my 2022 Bronco... So there I was, neck deep in the trail and fully using the 4 part of the 4wd system. I had just climbed a sizeable rock with the passenger front tire, but unfortunately the passenger rear slid off the of the rock and I ended up scraping the outside of the wheel/tire hard against the rock as I continued up the hillside. I could feel and hear the scraping, and saw the dust cloud in the mirror as the wheel chewed against the rock face. Anyhow about 3 seconds later my dash lit up like a Christmas tree and gave me a warning, fault, error code, and service soon message for more systems than were on the first lunar lander
Anyhow, a quick visual inspection yielded nothing out of sorts; all of the wiring at the hubs looked fine, none of the harnesses around the chassis or axles looked disturbed, and nothing in the engine compartment looked out of place. With nothing else to even consider trying, I cycled the ignition a few times to no avail. Then I disconnected the battery and let it sit for a few minutes. Low and behold, upon restarting, all of the malfunction indicators were gone! However, still no 4wd, which let's be honest, is what I needed the most... Again with nothing else to try, I cycled the ignition one last time and like magic, 4wd came back and I was underway. So what happened here? Well, my best guess is that the rock chewing allowed some debris to get into the ABS sensor and it freaked out, causing pretty much a complete vehicular failure. We've all had a similar issue with the much maligned Crankshaft Position Sensor failure on 4.0L Jeeps... Thankfully it just took a Ctrl+Alt+Del maneuver to get things back up and running, but it sure has me leery of a bigger issue hiding somewhere deep within the Donkey.
Long story short, if you've got a newer Bronco and experience something similar, my advice is to pull the battery cables, take a few minutes to chill out while things reset, and try it again. After some reading online it seems this isn't entirely uncommon, it's just part of doing business these day
