Binder Bash -- Spokane

Postby NickO » Sun Jun 22, 2008 10:00 pm

Drove up to Spokane Saturday for the Binder Bash, put on by the local club -- Just Internationals. Attendance was down to about half of their usual turnout -- about 30 trucks. There was a pretty good selection including a couple of working log trucks, a 1941 p/u hotrod, a beautifully restored 1956 p/u, and the typical selection of abused Scouts. Your humble coresponent took home awards for second place Scout II and Farthest Travelled.

Saturday evening included a potluck featuring Carne Asada and live music provided by the Kelly Hughes Band. We sat around the campfire until the rain chased us to bed around midnight.

Sunday AM we ventured into the area bordering ID for some trail rides. The trail boss led us to some pretty challenging rock outcrops. His truck suffered the worst of the trail damage -- busted transmission/xfercase crossmember and busted the rear axle to spring welds.

Ya, but that was Steve-O's ride. You'd probably had more fun with Nick.

I won first place "Wild modified" with my Scout II there about 6 years ago. It's a great little show.
