Small tires, single lockers etc are definitely a way to make things more challenging on the trails in the PNW. But while the guys with very mildly built rigs are being challenged on tame obstacles and the larger rig is not it is the smaller and less built rigs that are taking bypasses and not hitting every obstacle out there. Also when you get to the big play areas (funny/moon rocks) who is it sitting at the bottom watching the larger rigs play because they CAN'T do what the others can? Sure not everyone wants to play on the big stuff but if you get the hankering why not be able to do it?

If it's boring to have an overbuilt rig why do people run lockers at all? Why don't we just put 31" street tires on the rigs with no lockers and highway gears since that would make it more challenging?

Because the yota is busy being overbuilt for the terrain available in this state....

You heading this way for the tires? I'm headed to PAW for a few but I'll be around the rest of the day. Just gimme a jingle to be sure I'm around so you don't waste that precious dead dino juice..

LOL its a deal you can get from a snowmobile shop that straps on the header of a Toyota, mine is stainless and its about 8x6 container.
I can put a full package of hot dog or pizza pockets, corndogs, burritos anything like that and it will cook them as a oven would nice and steaming hot.
on a cold snow wheelin trip nothing beats hot food.
i have put in left over BBQ chicken and even cooked a grouse that i killed on the trail.
When your eating cold sandwiches and freezing and you see my food steaming and me having to blow on it to cool it down youll understand.
here is a cheaper version of what i have.

How much wheeling experience a person has is a big factor in their rig of choice. Just because I buy the best ski equipment in the store doesn't mean I take the lift to the top of the hill on a black diamond run without taking a lesson or two on some beginner skis.
