That seals the deal right there!

Once my 4-banger dies, the Cheep is getting an aluminum block version of the 5.3.

The only thing my trailer has been hauling lately. :D

But at least it is ready for camping season. Sporting the new strap box I won at Jamboree 3 years ago, HD jack, relocated brake battery box, and a stake pocket spare tire carrier.
Thank you Bryan for the fab/welding work.8)

Okay, we're a little crazy to have a Duramax for a daily driver. But if we go off our meds, we might wind up in a Prius.

Funny, I was just thinking about that snow drift. Years ago, Curtis and I winched are rigs straight up that drift which at that time extended a bunch more behind your rig in the picture where the hill is much steeper. There was an old narly tree to hook onto. We ran that ridge out a short bit and then hooked back up with the road. Unfortunately, after several miles of tough wheeling, we had to backtrack and winch backward down that same drift. Going back down it was tricky.

I just played fetch with my dogs and climbed the drift on foot. It went up a long ways and at the top was a huge cliff of snow. It was pretty funny watching a dog go full speed downthe drift chasing a tennis ball.

Well my plans fell thru tonight, being a nice night, and cars in the park it all sounded good. All good until a glance at one of the price tags.

Can't say I have ever seen a JK8 before.

And then a SoCom Jeep and Moab (something).

Kind of looks like it had a minor engine fire.

No fire. Just shadows and typical dirty engine compartment. I'm betting the engine runs, and there's a compressor issue, guess I'll find out.

Image

The whole thing was 1100, can't get a shipping container for anything close to that anymore. Let alone with wheels, aluminum roof and floors, insulation, and other goodies.

I'm thinking generator if the engine runs. I think it'll power a 15-20kw head, and the engine is likely already internally governed. It's a Kubota V2203, and I see a few used ones on e-bay for north of 1000, so that could be an option too.

Anyone got a homemade generator or played with one?
