Anyone here a sparky? I need a little info for my shop wiring

I have to apply for a state L&I permit and subsequent inspection, but there seems to be some confusion as to what the MINIMUM requirements are for said inspection. I have heard everything from a single light bulb and single outlet, to a full blown install being finished prior... I'm going to try and get in touch with an actual L&I inspector this morning, but if anyone has ACCURATE info, please let me know. Thanks!

Believe the min. is:
one outlet
one light inside, switch should be close to man door.
one door light out.

This being said, when I did my shop, I started with the above for power hook-up and was signed off by the inspector. When she came back, the city had hook-up power and I had 32 more outlets wired all the way around the shop and she still signed off with no problem.

If you have dogs, make sure to note when calling for inspection that the dog is in a kennel or locked inside, NO doggy door. This is the only thing I heard from the inspector and only saw her signature.

Are you going to wire the rest of the building? If so, wire it your self and have it inspected for peace of mind.....I got books if you're interested.

I was able to get in touch with an L&I inspector, and that is correct with one additional provision: the exterior door light must also be switch controlled, and a day/night/motion switch does not count, it has to be a wall switch.

And yes, this is just for initial inspection to get power turned on so I can finish the rest of the work using shore power.

Well, I passed inspection today so hopefully I'll be powered up by the weekend

Now the REAL fun begins
