Anybody know if I send a GPS unit through the airport X-ray machine will it have any ill affects on it? Taking a trip to Phoenix, flying down and driving back, in a U-haul, it just sound so appealing.

I do not know why it would affect it. My cheapo Garmin and my high end (at the time) flight one have been through a few times with no ill effects.

I would say put it in your carry on if you are really worried about it. That way you can have it out, like a camera or laptop.

double check everything on the U-haul... I worked there for a while and man some of their trucks aren't junk yard worthy... so make sure they get you a good one!!! Have a good trip and bring back some warm weather!!!

It won't hurt it. The only things that they hurt are 800 speed or higher film and pacemakers.
