When I was growing up, Dad had a third row in his Jeepster (facing backward.) We took that thing all the way across country twice with 4 kids and two adults.

The other really nice thing about the Cherokees is that you can sleep in them when the weather really turns to crap!
Really handy in those super heavy downpours.

I slept in a few of my XJs over the years so I did not have to sleep on the ground. The last time was on our Naches Pass run October 2008. I am glad I did because it rain a lot where there was standing water. A tent would have sucked to be in.

i really liked the xj's that i had they are good trail rigs and i really like the 4.0 liter straight 6 i put mine though hell and kept on driving it everday.

Agreed. Scotty passed me on the road the other day in his blue XJ. I have seen alot of what he has put his through, and lots of pictures of thrashings I have not witnessed, and that thing just keeps on going! I laughed to myself in amazement as he went by!
I think I am going to try to find one for a daily driver/boat launcher.

I don't think it's the trailer............ I have the same sickness only I don't have a trailer to haul stuff home with.
