Yes it is but that's not my point. You are laughing that they are charging so much for your old truck, do you think they gave the guy that traded your new truck in close to what you bought it for?

Of course not.

I think I did pretty good though. I've looked at lots of trucks over the last two years. I've looked at some good ones that were 20k and some that were crap. I was picky in that I wanted something bone stock that wasn't screwed with. I got exactly the truck I really wanted with a decent trade in and I'll have it payed off and move to the next money pit.

Yup you didn't do too bad at all. I'm happy to row my own gears knowing it won't cost 4k to rebuild like the auto you've got but other than that I'd tow with it. :D

We have friends who wanted to look at this truck again on Saturday. By the time they got there Rob bought it.
We like our friends, but we like Rob too!

Good looking truck! Good purchase! :)

I agree with you on the manual vs the auto. The E4OD auto has been considered to be a weak tranny by lots of people especially when adding a lot of power mods. From what I've heard the manual is not without its own problems as well.

I just had to think I'd how I'd feel rowing through gears with a 3300 lb loaded truck camper, pulling a 1500 lbs trailer on a 3ft extended hitch with a 4000 lbs Jeep on it.

From my own experience, my 95 F250 Diesel had 230,000 miles on the clock with no problems on the tranny.

If I spend 4000 grand in the future it won't be to put anything stock back in as far as the tranny goes.

Oh yea for sure they both have issues.. As far as rowing your own under load thats what I do every day with near 80k lbs.

I'm looking to put a browning 3 speed gear splitter in the ferd too, gotta keep my old IDI in the powerband..

Oh and the 4k trans IS upgraded, stock is much less. :D

Trash, isn't one of the issues with the E4OD weak lube flow in the output end? PO had done some trans work in the '92 F250 we had, and seems that was one things that was looked at...It was a 351, tho, not a PS...
