How much does a heat pump cost if you are just replacing the main units and using existing ducts. . .for, say, a 2400 sq ft house? 1200 on each of two stories.
I think my pops is getting JACKED.

Jimmy, you will mostly likely need new coils with your new pump. I spoke to Kenny (Dayco) and was shocked by the price. I would track down a good unit, use someone's buisness number for the discount, and heavily grease Cim's palm for the install. Of all my Apollo buddy's there know one that does heatpumps
I have been told the new heat pumps are way better than the 1980s unit that I have.

( I just got done working for Total Energy ) LOL. My house is similar in size to yours and I replaced my electric heat and A.C. the cost for materials was around $2000 a heat pump would be more. I should have done that. I got coleman equipment, not because I am biased but because It was middle of the road and. the local Trane supplier won't sell to private parties I would not own a lennox after working for a Lennox Company. I am done rambling
