No offense taken I got to thinking Monday while we were at Hover. Once that Scout is going, I'm gonna miss A/C, power windows, and rotary knobs to engage 4x4 Gonna have to larn all about them hub things and such all over again

we'll have to look things over good. If it's worth selling in toto, I'll put it up on the Binder boards for you. How's the floors and rockers? that's the big concern. If the body is good, you could get a pretty good price for it. Steve and I lucked out on ours as far as tin worm damage. Very minimal...

Thats all the info I have and it is 2nd hand at best but mostly 3rd hand so I won't be shocked if a 64 Scout 800 with a 4 cylinder shows up...

It'd look real neat all the way to twin city metals but it would only be worth about 1/3rd as a scoutII on scrap weight alone..

They are a Jeep D30 with a D44 gear section. They also have the 31.5 spring mounting spacing with I think 2" springs. IIRC they are wider than a Jeep WT but narrower than Waggy and have oddball Scout knuckles, being long tie rod/steering arms. Believe they also have a weird sprindle bolt pattern. The knuckles also come from the factory with 0 deg of caster except 80 vintage that added some.

Yup what James said.. Oddball stuff for the most part, decent if you swap all the dumb stock stuff out for standard GM/waggy stuff. Just because it is different doesn't mean it is better...


Not sure exactly what will happen with the Scout and all its stuff as of yet but when I know what is there first hand I'll have a better idea.
