Any recommendations? Lee? Toby? Might as well toss one up there while I'm doing my SYE and axle swap. I have the 03 and up 42rle auto bananic tranny, so I'm not sure if my choices will be limited.

I'd go with Rokmen. It is the same basic design as my Jeep Medic, but still available. Do you have a body lift? You'll want a body lift and motor mount lift, that'll keep your angles good and keep the fan out of the shroud without moding it. Let me know if you need 'em, I might be able to get the JKS BL and MML for say, half price. (I 'sold' said parts to a buddy, but he never used them nor did he ever pay me.)

I'd go with Rokmen as well, or Savvy if you're looking to save on weight. Just wish either one would come out with something to fit the 97-02 TJ's...

I wonder what the difference is. Where the skid mounts to the frame or where the trans mounts to the skid? Somebody bring a tape measure to the next meeting.

Whoever bought out Nth degree if they are still using their design I always liked it over the rest.

Yep, I have the JKS 1.25" BL/MML already on it. Lee, did you take yours off or switch brands?

Mattawa, Savvy does make a newfangled skid for my year and tranny. It's a TC/engine skid and tranny mount that lets you drop the skid without holding the tranny up with something. But, they want $800 for it.

Trash, Yeppers...going to need a shaft when it's all together.

I'll be going with the Rokmen or nth degree design. I'm actually deciding between the two.

Nope... I did the BL / MML and tummy tuck 1st. The suspension stuff came with them cheap so I kept them in the order. I should have held on to them; trying to get them back now.

Well, I know you get what you pay for, but I took the cheap way out.

I ordered the Under Cover Fabworks skid....formerly 33 engineering.
It was also highly recommended by a friend at work.

I took Lee's advice and just went with the steel version instead of their new aluminum plate.....for LCG purposes, I needed to counter balance the excess weight in the driver's seat.

Did you order the 1/4" or 3/16" thickness? (Hint: I've hit mine pretty hard more than once.)

American Expedition Vehicles assumed the Nth Degree line of products, and that's what I ran on my Rubi. Fit perfect with no fuss, I highly recommend it.

I think the difference on the earlier TJ's has to do with the transmission mounts.

I think the actual holes that line the plate up with the frame may be a bit different too...but I'm not positive on that one.

My new adjustable UCA's are part of the pile that now lives behind my Jeep in the garage!

X2 on Rokmen. The quality of their products is amazing. I have a set of their high line fenders (still have yet to install them) and I was blown away. As much as I like my current BTF tube fenders, I think Rokmen's stuff has them beat.

I'd definitely give Rokmen's skid system a look.... aside from the fact that it appears to all be back ordered.

UCF/33eng. belly up skid plate is already here. Added to the growing pile of stuff for my TJ in the garage. I talked with Matt from UCF on the phone about changing it from 3/16" to 1/4" but it had already been sent out. He said that it is still twice as thick as the stock plate, nets over 2" of additional clearance, and has never had one come back. He also makes a full engine/tranny skid that mates with it that I will be ordering.

I also picked up my free Cherokee high pinion D30 yesterday, but I am going to save that project for later. I already have the gears and stuff for my stock LP30.

All I need is some fluids, RTV, some stock length shocks for the rear, and I think I'm ready........... if I can stop saying yes to overtime.

Dave I would build that HP 30 if you can. The only difference is the gears as they are reverse rotation. The carrier, shafts, ect. are all the same as in the LP 30.

You drive your jeep on the street or tow it? I really like Rokmen's fenders but am trying to stray street legal.

I want to keep it as close as legal as possible. I enjoy driving it around town, and to day trip runs. I still flat tow it behind the MH when we camp. Someday, I'll get a trailer.

The HP30 looks like it is in rough shape. Been sitting outside for years. Has that weird split passenger side axle with missing actuator and cover. Everything else looks like it's there, rotors and calipers too. It's going to take some work. Should be fun to tinker with over the winter.
You can build it for me if you want, but it will have to go in my TJ when you are done.

If you still have that housing sitting around in a couple of years I may offer to take it off your hands

I drive my TJ every day. I've been hassled once about fenders and that's it and I've had it like this for years.

I too have a HP30... and I'd get rid of it along with 4.56 gears and a locker for cheap if I could ever find either a 3/4 HP D44 or a 78-79 HP60... if your still interested when I swap axles I can send them over your way.
